I truly hate going to the dentist

I truly hate going to the dentist. Even for a cleaning. My teeth hurt afterward. I take care of my teeth, brushing and flossing and using mouthwash like I’m supposed to, but I have very sensitive teeth. When I go in

Justice for the most basic cleaning, my whole mouth hurts for the next couple of days. Anyone else have this issue?

Wow! I’m shocked at how many of you have that problem! I’m so sorry. I think I might have to take a Vicodin beforehand, my goodness….

But, I actually love ❤️ going to get my teeth cleaned and always smile extra hard that day and a couple of days after to show my shiny teeth. I guess it’s just me being super proud!

Me too. . I have an RX toothpaste for sensitive teeth & gums.

The sonic cleaning tool makes me nearly jump out of the chair in pain EACH time I visit for a cleaning.

They have me using a prescription toothpaste because I have thin enamel on my teeth to begin with – thank you lifetime of asthma inhalors and medications – so using sensodyne isn’t an option and it likely wouldn’t help much. There’s not much they can do to make it more comfortable for me.

I didn’t know they had a sensitive formula in Prevident. That’s what I used to use. I might have to ask if I can do that sort of system.

I have very little enamel also. I use the prescription PreviDent 5000 (by Colgate) sensitive formula when I brush in the morning and SensoDyne Pronamal (OTC) in the evening. I’ve tried a number of prescription toothpastes over the years, but the PreviDent works the best for me.

Very sensitive teeth.
Use sensitive toothpaste… The cleaning is painful for me also. Hot & cold can be problem too.

My teeth aren’t sensitive but I have a huge phobia of sitting in that chair! I’m so terrified that they even give me gas for just a cleaning! And for major things, well my dentist does the sleep stuff, thank God!

Oh yes! In fact my dentist does not touch my teeth when I go for a check up. He just uses the mirror and hopes he dosn’t miss anything.

It uses ultrasonic scaler and if you have sensitive teeth anyway it will always leave it more so as you are removing the tartar build up (which can stop air hitting the areas with sensitivity)
Now they are nice and with the tiny bit of tartar removed, if you use a sensitive toothpaste and it will build up a slight film on your teeth over time which should help the sensitivity a smidge Hun xxxx
