NYC’s finest everyone

NYC’s finest everyone. Look how many cops arrived for one man whose card didn’t work. One woman with a baby with a fever and her husband who she let into the station after his card swiped but then the stile got stuck (as happens). #PoliceBrutality #NYC

I can’t even fucking believe this shit any more!! And they leave with the baby’s food to top it all off.

You know what is fucked up? That if no one dies, no one cares. Casual harassment and physical force aren’t entertaining enough.

and it’s so damn clear that this family is being targeted. I myself have done exactly what this man did and they didn’t call for fucking backup.

May I share this?

PLEASE DO. I am so upset that because this is a “not big deal” kind of police brutality fewer people seem to be raging about it.

It just really shows how VERY fucking often this kind of thing happens.

The worst thing is that there’s nothing unusual about this; this kind of thing is completely routine.

I know. I know and I hate it and I hate that this isn’t a big deal that a person’s night and dignity and comfort was ruined because of taking the train home late when cops are fucking bored and congregate around whatever fucking action there is.

They’re probably feeling insecure because they aren’t “America’s little heroes” anymore and they’re overcompensating. And they probably did the danger thing when they were considered heroes back when no one had phones on their cameras because they think in black and white morality where they’re the “good guys,” and they weren’t gonna get caught anyway.

What was that lame justification the one guy gave you for why they were going all City 17 on this guy?

No justification. Only one who answered my question said he hadn’t seen what happened (implying he’d been called and didn’t know why? I dunno.)

I love how they focused on this man who didn’t do anything wrong, called in enough backup to take down a house party, and ALL SEVEN OF THEM ignore the crying, pleading woman holding a sick baby. No one even looks in her direction. Absolutely fucking sickening.

YUP. I was trying to talk to her throughout this thing and then talked to her more after and was going to try to help her get home but then the police / her husband made her join them (and waste yet another card swipe btw by leaving the station….)

I’m glad you were there to document this event. This sort of thing gets ignored or you see people posting videos on Facebook like it’s funny. I hope this family is safe after everything…. Ugh, I can’t even find words…

If he was a white man, though, I really would like to see the difference in treatment.

Well, I was there filming, officer asked me to stop, I refused, nothing happened to me, did it? If he were a white man they’d have handed him a fine, argued, and let him go.
